How to Make... Lilac and Lace Wedding Stationery

Lilac and Lace Wedding Stationery Guide

Oh My Goodness -  lilac and lace wedding stationery -  could this get any better?  A beautiful print combined with the most luxurious lace and finished with a coordinating resin rose.  It really is strikingly beautiful.
If lilac isn’t your colour of choice, why not tweak the design by choosing an alternative paper and embellishment to make it uniquely yours.
This range take a small amount of skill (so if you are a complete novice to crafting, this one isn’t the perfect one for you).  But with a little patience, you can achieve excellent results.

Here’s how to make this range:

SAVE THE DATE CARD

YOU WILL NEED:
1/2 sheet of Josephine lilac paper.   (click here)
1 Ivory Dior Bow.  (click here)
11cm Dahlia Lace. (cut in half do each length of 11cm will make 2 Save the date cards.  (click here)
1/2 sheet of matt off white card.  (click here)

Other Items You Might Need:
1 small lilac resin rose
Paper trimmer
Tape runner or double sided tape.  (click here)
Hot melt glue gun.  (click here)
A sharp scissors

HERE”S HOW TO MAKE IT:

Cut 2 pieces of Matt A4 card 14cm x 10.5cm.  Use your tape runner to stick both pieces together.

Print your wording on to the Josephine Paper and cut down to size.  The finished size needs to be 14cm wide x 10.5cm high with a gap on the left of at least 7cm (for the lace).  You should be able to get 2 panels on each A4 sheet)

Stick  your wording panel on top of the Card.

Cut 11cm of Dahlia Lace.  Fold in half lengthways.  Carefully cut along the fold line so that you have 2 identical pieces of lace.  Run a line of tape down the left of your Save The Date (at the outside edge).  Run another 2 lines of tape appx. 2cm apart.  Press your lace firmly in to place on top of the tape.  Make sure that you line the edge of the lace up with the edge of the card.  If you have any overlap, carefully trim it off with a scissors.

Use your glue gun to stick the centre of the Dior Bow to the middle of the card at the front left (see image).  Making sure that you follow the edges of the card, pass your ribbon around to the back of the card and secure in place using your glue gun.  It is neater if you slightly overlap the ends and trim off any loose edges.

2 1/2 sheet of matt off white card.  (click here)

HERE’S HOW TO MAKE IT:
Cut a piece of Matt Off White Card 29.8cm wide x 14.9cm high (TIP……The length of the card should already be 29.8cm so you shouldn't need to cut the length)
Score and fold in half.

Cut a piece of Matt off White Card 14.5cm x 14.5cm.

Cut a pice of Josephine Lilac Paper 14.5cm wide x 9cm high.  Stick to the front of your card panel.

Run several lines of double sided tape across the length of the Josephine Lilac Paper.  Press your lace firmly in to place on top of the tape (making sure that you leave an overlap on both sides).
Use a thin line of glue from the glue gun to stick the ends of the lace in to place at the back of the card.

Use your glue gun to stick the centre of the Dior Bow to the Centre of the Lace Panel.  Trim off the excess ribbon at either side of the panel so that you are left with about 2cm each side.  Making sure that the ribbon is straight, pass the ends around to the back of the panel and stick in to place using the glue gun.

Using a combination of Double Sided Tape (on the card) and a small amount of glue from the glue gun (on ribbon ends and lace), stick the decorated panel on to the front of your folded card.

Use the glue gun to stick the resin rose in to place in the middle of the Dior Bow.

Open up your card.

Fold your Add On Pocket along the crease lines and stick in to place on the inside of the card.  You can use double sided tape.  I prefer to use the glue gun (for a stronger hold).  However, if you choose to use the glue gun, you will need to work really quickly before the glue hardens.

Print your wording on to the Lilac Josephine Paper and Cut down to size.  The finished sizes should be:
Invitation Panel - 13cm x 13cm (you should be able to fit 2 on each sheet)
RSVP Panel - 11cm x 8.5cm (you should be able to fit between 2 and 4 on each sheet)

Cut a piece of Matt Off White Card 13.5cm x 13.5cm.  Stick your invitation wording on top using double sided tape.  Slot in to the pocket.

Cut a piece of Matt Off White Card 11.5cm x 9cm.  Stick your RSVP wording on top using double sided tape.  Slot in to the pocket.

HERE”S HOW TO MAKE IT:

For this favour, we simply chose a nice bar of soap and wrapped it as prettily as we could.  You could use the same principle to wrap anything.

Measure your box and cut a piece of paper that is about 1cm larger than double the width and is long enough to wrap all the way around your box / soap.

Basically, if you know how to wrap a parcel, this will be a doddle.

Place  your box / soap face down in the centre of the paper.  Run a line of tape along one edge of the paper and wrap around until it covers the box and the paper is stuck together along one edge.

Turn the box to one of the sides that is currently open.  Pull the bottom of the paper up towards the top of the box and hold in place.  Fold in each side of the paper until it touches the box.  Make a crease along the paper so that you have a point that can be folded down and stuck in to place.
Repeat this process on the other open end.

Cut 2 lengths of Daisy Chain Lace long enough to wrap around the box / soap.  Wrap both pieces of lace around the box, using your glue gun to stick them in to place at the bottom of the box / soap.  As you wrap them around, you will need to make sure that you have an even overlap in the lace and that the top and bottom borders are even.

Use your glue gun to stick the Dior bow to the top centre of your box / soap.  Following the line of the lace, wrap the loose ends of the bow around to the bottom of the box and secure in to place with the glue gun.  Cut off any loose edges.

Use your glue gun to stick the small resin rose on top of the Dior Bow.
