How to Make- Arabesque Laser Cut Invitation

Laser Cut Invitation DIY wedding stationery ideas. Pink and white laser cut wedding stationery with heart details. Crystal embellishments. Ideas to make your own wedding invitations

You Can Make this Laser Cut Invitation too!

Follow these instructions to make this gorgeous laser cut invitation with co-ordinating place cards and favour boxes.

When our new papers arrived in stock, we couldn’t wait to start designing with them. We knew they were lovely but this design really did blow us away. It’s so pretty and feminine but it oozes charm and class. Your guests would never guess that you saved yourself a fortune and made them yourself!

The invitations and placards and so easy, even the most unskilled crafter would be able to make them. However, a word of caution……as beautiful as the favour boxes are, they do take a bit more skill. If you’re a bit scared, you could easily adapt them to your level of skill.

Although we’ve designed this in a blush pink and ivory, you can easily change the backing paper or colour to create something in theme with your DIY wedding.

Here’s some instructions to help you get started…

Invitation

Black laser cut wedding invitation to decorate yourself. Laser cut wedding invitations with heart. DIY wedding invitation idea

For each invitation you will need:

1 Arabesque Laser Cut White Invitation with insert and envelope BUY
1/2 sheet Amelia Paper in Pink BUY
1/2 sheet of pearlised white paper (although if you’re careful you could get away with 1/4 sheet) BUY
12 Self Adhesive Crystal Heart Stickers BUY

Other things you might need:

Tape Runner BUY
Paper Trimmer BUY

Please take note……our Pearlised card and paper will only print well with a Laser Printer. A laser printer will give you a nice clean professional finish with no smudging. If you haven’t got a laser printer or you can’t beg, borrow or steal one (please don’t literally steal one), you are probably going to need to use an inkjet. If this is the case, we would highly recommend you changing the pearlised white paper to matt off white paper to avoid smudging and loss of print quality. Alternatively, visit your local printers and smile nicely!

Instructions

Open up your Arabesque Laser Cut Invitation and place it face down on a flat surface.

Peel off one of the self adhesive heart stickers and stick in place on the outline of one of the small laser cut hearts (take a look at the image so you can see where to place them). Keep doing this until all the hearts have stickers on them. You should need 10 in total

Print your invitation wording on to the A4 sheet of paper and cut down to size using a paper trimmer. You should be able to print 2 or 4 copies on each sheet (4 copies takes a lot of fiddling around but it is do-able) The finished size of your invitation panel should be 10cm x 10cm.

Measure the inside of your laser cut invitation. Cut a piece of Amelia Pink Paper 2mm smaller than the size of the inside of the invitation (you should be cutting it to 14.8cm x 14.8cm but it’s always best to double check).
Use your tape runner to stick the Amelia pink paper on to the inside of the laser cut invitation. Make sure you are sticking the paper to the INSIDE of the card (so the crystal hearts should not be visible when you are sticking the paper down)

Use your paper trimmer to cut your laser cut insert to 10.5cm x 10.5cm (or 0.5cm bigger than your printed invitation panel). Stick in to place in the middle of the printed paper inside the laser cut invitation.

Use your tape runner (or double sided tape) to stick the invitation panel on to the inside of the laser cut invitation (on top of the card panel you just stuck in to place)

Peel off one of the self adhesive crystal heart stickers and place in the top left corner of the invitation panel. Peel off a second heart and stick in to place at the bottom right of the invitation.

You can now fold the front flaps of the invitation over the wording and you’re done! It really is as simple as that.

Placecard

For each placecard you will need:

1/4 sheet of pearlised white card BUY
1/8 sheet Amelia Paper in Pink BUY
1 row of constellation heart self adhesive crystal stickers (you will be left with some offcuts) BUY

Other things you might need:

Tape Runner BUY
Paper Trimmer BUY
Paper Scoring blade BUY

Instructions

Cut a piece of Pearlised White card 9cm wide x 14cm high. Score and fold in half using your paper scorer. (You should be able to get 4 placecards cut from each A4 sheet and have some offcuts left)

Cut a piece of Amelia Pink Paper 9cm wide x 7cm high. Use the tape runner to stick on to the front of the folded placecard (make sure you match the edges up well. If you have any overlap, you can trim it carefully with a scissors or with your paper trimmer).

From the offcuts of Pearlised white card, cut a panel 3cm high x 5cm wide. Use the tape runner to stick this panel on to the front centre of your place card.

Peel off a row of Constellation Heart Self Adhesive Crystal stickers. Carefully stick it across the middle (top) of your card, following the line of your name card panel. Cut of any loose ends.

You’re now ready to write your guest names on the panel and you’re all done!

TIP – If you want to have printed names on your place cards, you can purchase A4 paper, print on to that and then cut it down to size to stick on to the place cards instead of your card panel.

Favour Box

Idea to make your own wedding stationery with laser cut details. Pink and white wedding stationery with hearts. Inspiration for DIY weddings

For each favour box you will need:

1 pearlised white blank favour box BUY
1/3 sheet Amelia Paper in Pink BUY
1/4 Arabesque Laser Cut invitation BUY
12 Self Adhesive Crystal Heart Stickers BUY

Other things you might need:

Tape Runner BUY
Paper Trimmer BUY

Instructions

Fold your favour box base and lid (but don’t put it together yet)

Measure the top of your favour box and cut a piece of Amelia Pink Paper to exactly the same size using your paper trimmer.   Use your tape runner to stick on to the top of your box.

Cut the laser cut section of the Arabesque invitation away from the flat part of the card. Take this section and use your paper trimmer to cut a piece that measures the same length and width as the top of your favour box (make sure you have either the top or bottom of the panel and keep the pretty outside edges….if you’re confused, just look at the pictures). Use your tape runner to stick this in place on top of the paper panel, making sure to match your edges up. If you have any overlap, carefully trim it with a scissors.

Take the box lid (the one you’ve just been decorating). Peel off a self adhesive crystal heart and stick it in the centre of one of the sides. Repeat the process until all sides have a crystal heart stuck on.

Measure the depth of your box and cut 2 paper strips using your measurement. Starting on one side of the box, use your tape runner to stick one of the panels across the side. Fold it around to the next side and continue sticking it in to place. Once you reach the edge of the second side, use a scissors to carefully trim any excess paper. Take your second strip of paper and repeat the process to cover the last 2 sides of the box.

You are now ready to fill your box up and put the lid on.

And there you have it. Beautiful wedding stationery all made by you!

Go on……give it a go!
