How to Make… Arabesque Dusky Pink Wedding Stationery

Pink Wedding Stationery Elegant laser cut wedding invitation. DIY wedding invitation with laser cut and lace. Dusky pink and cream

Arabesque with Dusky Pink Wedding Stationery- Elegant DIY wedding stationery

The Arabesque laser cut invitation is so beautiful, we wanted to work on a full range so that you could see it’s full potential.  When we finished working on the range, we knew it was a total winner.

It has a really feminine elegance and charm that is sure to delight your guests.

Is it hard to make?  The invitation couldn’t be easier.  However, there is a small amount of fiddling involved in some of the other items.  The overall finish definitely makes the little extra effort worth it.

This design can be easily adapted by changing the colours or embellishments.

Here’s how we made them (if you have a go yourself, we’d love to see your finished work!!):

LASER CUT INVITATIONS

For each invitation you will need:

1 Arabesque Laser Cut Invitation and envelope in Cream  BUY
1/2 sheet of Valenciennes paper in Ivory  BUY
1/4 sheet Precious Pink Card  BUY
1/2 sheet Precious pink Paper  BUY
1 Carla embellishment  BUY
1 meter of 16mm Dusky Pink Ribbon  BUY

Other things you might need:

INSTRUCTIONS:

Print your wording on to Pearlised A4 Precious Pink Paper and cut down to size.  The finished size should be 9.5cm x 9.5cm.  You should be able to fit at least 2 wording panels on each sheet.

Cut a piece of Valenciennes Ivory Paper 14.75cm x 14.75cm.  Use your tape runner to stick the paper to the inside of your laser cut invitation.

Cut a piece of Precious Pink Card 10cm x 10cm.  Use your tape runner to stick the card to the centre of the patterned paper.  Stick the invitation wording panel on top.

Use this video to make a dior bow from your dusky pink ribbon (about 7cm wide).

Cut a piece of Dusky Pink Ribbon 32cm wide.  With your invitation closed and facing down, hold one end of the ribbon on to the centre of the back of the card.  Whilst holding this in place, wrap the loose end of the ribbon around the front of the card, meeting back up at the back (so that the ribbon is wrapped right around your card).  Carefully use the glue gun to stick the loose end of the ribbon to the end of the ribbon you are holding in to place (be careful not to spill any glue on to the card).

Use your hot melt glue gun to stick the dior bow in to place in the centre of the ribbon at the front of the card (again, make sure not to spill any glue on to the card).

Use your hot melt glue gun to stick the Carla embellishment to the centre of the dior bow.

Use your paper trimmer to cut 6cm off one of the patterned sides of your laser cut invitation.  Cut this section so that it is 9cm high.  Try to make sure that you cut it evenly so that the widest point of the pattern sits right in the middle (see the picture above).

Use your double sided tape runner to stick this panel to the right side of your Save The Date Card.  I recommend using the tape runner on the card and pressing the laser cut panel in to place.

Use your tape runner to apply a line of tape along the back of the dior bow.  Press in to place on the right side of the card (about .75cm in from the edge).  Wrap the loose edges of the bow around to the back of the card.  Glue one end in to place at the centre of the back of the card and trim off any excess.  Glue the other end of the ribbon over the top and carefully trim off any loose edges.

Cut 1/2cm from the top of your laser cut card and 1/2cm from the bottom so the finished size is 14cm.

Open up your laser cut invitation and cut 8.5cm from each side so that you are left with 2 laser cut panels with a border of cream card at the side.

Use your tape runner to stick the plain cream card section of the laser cut panel to the top of the folded card.

Use your glue gun to carefully stick the dior bow to the front of the card.  The bow needs to be central and placed about 1cm from the top.  Wrap one of the loose edges of the dior bow ribbon around to the inside of the card and stick in to place (appx. in the middle of the card).  Use a scissors to trim off the loose edge.  Wrap the loose end of the ribbon around to the inside of the card and use your glue gun to neatly glue the ribbon in to place over the top of the previously glued ribbon.  Use your ribbon to neatly trim off the loose edge.
